Retest Information
  • If your child scores a 2 or 1 on a test, then they will get the opportunity to take a retest.
    • Generally, a retest will have five questions per SOL (Standard of Learning)
  • If your child needs to retest, the original test will sent home in their SILVER folder.
    • There will be a note at the top stating which SOL to review and the date of the retest.
      • There is a rubric at the end of the test that lists each SOL and the questions/problems on the test that relate to that SOL.
    • Please take the time to review with your student, using the test as a study guide.
      • The retest will have similar questions to the original test, but will NOT be exactly the same.
      • A good strategy is to have your child make corrections to their test to understand their mistakes.
  • The highest your child can score on a retest is a 2+.
    • It will show up on their report card as a 3.
    • The purpose of this is to let us know that it was a topic that they struggled with.
  • Please remember that retests are only for tests. Quiz grades are final.
