Homework 1/17/2020

We had a great full week of school! We were busy learning new things and finishing up various assignments. We learned about how to disagree during morning meeting. There was a Den Rally on Friday where we discussed making growth and an inspirational word that is meaningful to us.

Week Overview
* Reading - We learned about finding keywords in nonfiction texts and how to use the glossary and the text to figure out their meanings. We will continue working with nonfiction next week.
* Writing - We published our nonfiction All About books.

* Science - We learned more about magnetism and experimented with magnets around the classroom. We will start our weather unit next week.

* Math - We finished up with estimation (though we will review it in our math stations). We started to learn about counting coins. Next week, we will continue practicing to count coins and start including the $1 bill. The goal in second grade is to be able to count collections up to $2 in coins and bills.

Due to the holiday and teacher work day, I will see the kiddos back on Wednesday.
