The kids have been earning green Dojo points for the past few weeks. They have earned them for turning in their homework on time, getting their agenda checked, making good choices, and being on task in class. They will also start earning them for completing their assigned time in online programs (Dreambox, Lalilo, RAZ Kids).
We discussed Dojo Rewards during morning meeting today. It looks a little different from usual, but should work out nicely. When a child has earned 25 points, they will find a "ClassDojo Rewards" activity on their Seesaw. Everyone has earned 25 points so when they have 50 total points, they will get another reward; then when they have 75 total points, they will get another and so on.
It is optional for your child to choose a reward. If they do not want one, they don't have to choose one. It will just sit in their Seesaw in case they change their mind.
The reward choices are:
- Awesome Note
- Ms. Stiffler will write a letter home about all the wonderful things your child is doing
- Show-and-Tell
- Bring an item to morning meeting to share with the class (asynchronous day)
- Whiteboard
- Use a whiteboard during an indoor recess (1 time use)
- This is a reward since we don't use the whiteboards for free time to save the markers.
- Read a Book to the Class
- Bring a book from home or from reading bag and read it to the class, like Ms. Stiffler does every day
- This will be on an in-school day and be read to just their group.
- Free Book from Scholastic Book Club
- Free choice of a book from Scholastic Book Club, no cost to grown ups
- Kiddo chooses book, Ms. Stiffler emails home to check if the book is okay with grown-ups, Ms. Stiffler orders, and Kiddo brings home forever.
- Treasure Box
- Choose an item from the Treasure Box
- Due to hybrid, this does look super different from what you would expect. When a child chooses Treasure Box, they will find an activity in their Seesaw called "DOJO REWARDS: Treasure Box".
- It may take a little time as I mark off items that have been chosen so two kids don't choose the same one.
