We will be going 100% distance starting Tuesday, December 15th. At this time, LCPS has not announced when hybrid will return. For our class, this means that we will be meeting online from 8:00 - 11:00am Tuesday through Friday; we will continue to meet for about 30-45 minutes on Mondays (8:00 - 8:30am). It is pretty much the same as it was in September/October, with the small change of starting at 8:00am. The goal is to make this transition as smooth and consistent as possible.

Our specials dates will stay the same. However, they will be switching to one day being Synchronous while the other is Asynchronous, like how Library has been.

- The big change is that Guidance is at 9:30 - 10:00am on B Week Thursdays.
- This means that Ms. Morales will meet us at the pnb2stiffler Google Meet to do her lesson.
- After Guidance, the kids will take a 15 minute break and then finish their lessons with Ms. Stiffler.
A few reminders about online learning:
- Please make sure your child is on-time for the Google Meet.
- If they arrive after 8:15am, they will marked tardy.
- Encourage your child to have all their supplies nearby and easy to access for lessons.
- It saves time and prevents kids from having to run across the house.
- Remind your child that, while we are online, we are still here to learn and that they should be focused, engaged, and participating in lessons.
- I do not mind if kids are sitting in bed, but they need to be sitting up and participating.
- If not, I will ask them to go to another location in their house where they can focus.
- Laying down in bed is not an option.
- If they need to go to the bathroom, they do not need to ask. They can just go.
- If they need to get up and walk around ("take a break"), they are welcome to do so as long as it's super quick and they focus once they are back.
- We will still have our 15 minute break (and snack) as well as movement breaks as needed.

Week Overview
*Morning Meeting - We learned about how worries are okay to have and how to make worries go away. We also talked about our WorryBugs and how we shouldn't feed them worries.
*Reading - We learned about nonfiction text features (table of contents, headings, index, glossary vs dictionary). We also learned about how authors have intentions (to entertain, to inform, to persuade).
*Writing - We started writing our how-to books.
*Math - We practiced our addition and subtraction facts.
*Social Studies - We learned about the equator, prime meridian, and landmarks of the United States (Appalachian Mountains, Rocky Mountains, Rio Grande River, Mississippi River, James River, and the Great Lakes).
