Reminders for Friday, September 17th
- Please remember to bring your Chromebook and charger to school each day!
- 30 minutes of RAZ kids due by Friday, 9/24
- This is 30 minutes between Friday, 9/17 and Friday 9/24, not 30 minutes each day. It will be written in their agendas each day as a reminder.
- Fall Festival on Saturday, 9/18 at Pinebrook ES!
- 2 - 3:30pm -- Families with last names that start with A-L
- 3:30 - 5:00pm -- Families with last names that start with M-Z
- Place value quiz on Monday, 9/20 (math)
- Library Books due Thursday, 9/23
- Library books are always due Thursdays. The kids can turn books in any day before that as well. If they do not return their books by Thursday, they will not be allowed to get new books from Mrs. Higgins.
- Thursday is our Library day.
- Scientific Method Test on Thursday, 9/23 (science)
- Study Guide was sent home on Tuesday.
- Skip-Counting quiz on Friday, 9/24 (math)
Notes
- **If you have not already, please consider putting extra masks in your kiddo's backpack. Accidents happen and it's always best when the kids have masks that they are already comfortable wearing.
- Please also be sure that your kiddo's masks fit their faces well!

- Scholastic Book Clubs is active! You can get books shipped to your home instead of school. Our class code is RKQRV. You can view the current catalogs and information HERE.

Morning Meeting/SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) - We learned about social awareness and how we can be similar and different from others.
Reading - We learned about connections (text-to-self, text-to-text, text-to-world). Next week, we will start learning about
Writing - We focused on ending punctuation (period, exclamation mark, question mark) and when to capitialize a word ("I", first word in a sentence, proper nouns). Next week, we will take our writing knowledge and start practicing full sentences and fixing sentences.

Math - We started learning about 2-digit place value (tens and ones). Next week, we will practice skip counting (1s, 5s, 10s).
Science - We started our scientific method unit (question, hypothesis, experiment, observe, record data, and draw conclusions) and did a couple of experiments. We will continue this next week.
