Friday Reminders 10/8/21

Friday, October 8, 2021

We had the Puma Olympics on Thursday and learned many new things this week. The kids are doing quite well with listening though we are still working on not talking over others; it's gotten much better from the beginning of the year.

 Reminders for Friday, October 8th

  • Please remember to bring your Chromebook and charger to school each day!
  • No School on Monday, October 11th for Indigenous Peoples' Day
  • 30 minutes of RAZ kids due by Friday, 10/15
  • Library Books due Thursday, 10/14
  • Questioning/Wondering quiz on Friday, 10/15 (reading)
Notes
  • **If you have not already, please consider putting extra masks in your kiddo's backpack. Accidents happen and it's always best when the kids have masks that they are already comfortable wearing.
    • Please also be sure that your kiddo's masks fit their faces well!
Week Overview
Morning Meeting/SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) - We learned about helpful versus unhelpful thoughts. The helpful thoughts we learned about were "I’ve got this!”, “Keep Trying!”, “Mistakes Help Me Grow!”, and “I Can Do It!”
Reading -  We learned about using reading logs and fiction versus nonfiction. We also learned about problem and solution in a story. Next week, we will learn about questioning/wondering while reading.
Writing -  We worked on our small moments writing about ourselves.
Math - We learned about counting forward and back using 10s and 100s (similar to skip counting). Next week, we will learn how to compare numbers (greater than, less than, equal to).
Social Studies - We finished our Communities unit. We will start learning about habitats next week!

Have a fantastic weekend,
