Friday Reminders 2/18/22

Friday, February 18, 2022

If you haven't already, please consider filling out the Mid-Year Family Check-In Survey. With the first two quarters finished and two more to go, I would love to take a moment to pause and check in you and your child. Thank you for your time!

In class, we have been really focusing in on making sure we know what our responsibilities are throughout the day. The kids love to socialize and we are working on being sure that it is the right time to be having conversations or not. There are three times that we are putting more effort into:

  • When the kids come into the classroom in the morning, they should be writing in their agenda, getting it checked, completing morning work on Seesaw, and THEN socializing with their classmates; this allows us to get rolling with our day once we return from specials.
  • When it is snack time, they should finish their snack FIRST and then they can have free time. Lately, some kids have been playing or socializing and then eating snack during phonics. Since we have a set snack time, we are working on being responsible with our time.
  • When we come in from lunch, we should be getting our math homework ready, putting homework in our silver folders, packing up, and getting ready for the math lesson.
Just a small heads up that I will not be at school on Tuesday, 2/22. I have a teacher training to attend and therefore, the kiddos will have a substitute all day. Before they left today, I did have a conversation with the kids about being on their very best behavior and being good listeners for the substitute.
