Famous American Project 2022
Due Friday, March 25th
Second grade students have been learning about famous Americans during social studies. We have learned about these people in school. Students will choose one person to focus on or learn more about. Please have your second grader choose one of the following people:
- Benjamin Franklin
- Abraham Lincoln
- George Washington Carver
- Helen Keller
- Thurgood Marshall
- Rosa Parks
- Jackie Robinson
- Cesar Chavez
- Martin Luther King Jr.
This project is to be completed AT HOME.
The assignment includes three parts:
- Fact Sheet
- Character
- Your student will color a character cut-out to make it look like their chosen Famous American.
- Presentation on Seesaw
- The student will need to share:
- The name of the person
- Three facts about the person
- How has the person caused a change in the student’s life

- Contributions - What have we gained from the person (laws, inventions, more opportunities, etc.)?
- Best Known - Why do we know this person's name?
- Interesting Facts - What is an extra fact about the person?
