Week Overview
- Remember your Chromebook and charger every day!
- No School on Monday, 9/26 - teacher work day
- If you celebrate Rosh Hashanah, Shanah tovah umtukah!
- 30 minutes TOTAL of RAZ Kids due by Friday, 9/30
- Log in through LCPS Go or go to kidsa-z.com
- Beginning, Middle, End Assessment on Friday, 9/30 (reading)
- Students will identify the main event at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of the story.
- Puma Olympics on Friday, 9/30 from 10:30 - 12:00pm
- Wear yellow to show that you are in second grade!
- Wear sneakers and bring a water bottle. You are also welcome to bring sunglasses or a hat. Sunscreen can be brought to school or applied at home; however, if brought to school, your kiddo needs to be able to put it on themselves.
- Fun Run will be DURING the Puma Olypmics.
- It is a PTA fundraiser and is entirely optional to donate.

Notes
- Weekly Reminders
- Wear sneakers on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for P.E.
- If you do not wear sneakers/tennis shoes/trainers or closed-toed shoes (NO boots), you will not be allowed to participate in P.E. This is a rule from the P.E. teachers.
- Return library books by Wednesday!
- If you do not return your books, you will not be allowed to pick out new books.
- Ice Cream at lunch on Thursday!
- Ice cream is $1.

- PTA Meeting on Monday, 10/17 at 7pm in the Pinebrook Elementary Library
- School store will be open on Fridays from 7:40 - 8:00mm.
- The kids should come to the classroom first so I know they are here and THEN go to the school store.

SEL/Morning Meeting - We focused on simliarities and differences and why they are important to us.
Reading - We practiced using our reader response journals and wrote predictions.
Writing - We practiced punctuation and capitalization.
Writing - We practiced punctuation and capitalization.
Read Aloud - We identified the story elements of setting (where and when) and characters in our texts. Next week, we will identify the plot of our stories (beginning, middle, end).
Math - We practiced our skip counting this week. Next week, we will start working with 3-digit place value (ones, tens, hundreds).
Science - We finished up our Scientific Method unit. We will start our Social Studies unit about past versus present next week.
Handwriting - We practiced writing words using our best handwriting.
Please remember that Monday, 9/26 is a teacher work day so I will see the kids again on Tuesday, 9/27!
