- 3-digit Place Value test on Thursday, 10/6 (math)
- Problem and Solution Assessment on Friday, 10/7 (reading)
- Students will identify the problem (something the character has to fix) and the solution (how the character fixes the problem) of a story.
- No School on Monday, 10/10 -- Indigenous Peoples Day
- Counting Forward/Backward by 10s and 100s Quiz on Wednesday, 10/12 (math)
- Past and Present (Communities) Test on Wednesday, 10/12 (social studies)
- Community Connection Event at Pinebrook on Thursday, 10/13

- Wear sneakers on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for P.E.
- If you do not wear sneakers/tennis shoes/trainers or closed-toed shoes (NO boots), you will not be allowed to participate in P.E. This is a rule from the P.E. teachers.
- Return library books by Wednesday!
- If you do not return your books, you will not be allowed to pick out new books.
- Ice Cream at lunch on Thursday!
- Ice cream is $1.

- Fall Festival at Pinebrook Elementary
- 2-5pm at the school
- PTA is also doing a blanket drive; bring new or gently used blankets to the Festival.
- PTA Meeting on Monday, 10/17 at 7pm in the Pinebrook Elementary Library
- School store will be open on Fridays from 7:40 - 8:00mm.
- The kids should come to the classroom first so I know they are here and THEN go to the school store.

SEL/Morning Meeting - We discussed some classroom expectations this week as well as talking about growth mindset.
Reading - We practiced using our reader response journals.
Writing - We continued practicing punctuation and capitalization.

Read Aloud - We identified the plot of our stories (beginning, middle, end) and characters in our texts. Next week, we will identify the problem and solution of our stories.
Math - We started working with 3-digit place value (ones, tens, hundreds). We will continue this next week.
Social Studies - We started noticing the differences between past and present communities and population. Next week, we will focus on differences in transportation and communication.
Handwriting - We practiced writing words using our best handwriting.
