- Rounding to the Nearest Ten Assessment on Thursday, 10/28 (math)
- Habitats Assessment on Thursday, 10/28 (science)
- Study guide will come home on Monday.
- Main Idea Assessment on Friday, 10/28 (reading)
- Students will identify the main idea of a fiction story. It is what the story is mostly about or what is happening the most throughout the story.
- Example.) In Goldilocks and the Three Bears, the main idea is that Goldilocks is trying to find the just right items in the house.
- Class Party on Friday, 10/28
- Lunch in the classroom.
- Parents are welcome to attend the party starting at 1pm. Please make sure that you have planned to leave by 2pm to allow buses to arrive for dismissal.
- No School on Monday, 10/31 -- teacher work day
- No School on Tuesday, 11/1 -- teacher work day

- Parent & Teacher Conferences begin this month!
- Please check that you have signed up for a conference appointment. If you have signed up, you should have received a Google calendar invite from me. I will also be sending home paper reminders soon.
- Weekly Reminders
- Wear sneakers on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for P.E.
- If you do not wear sneakers/tennis shoes/trainers or closed-toed shoes (NO boots), you will not be allowed to participate in P.E. This is a rule from the P.E. teachers.
- Return library books by Wednesday!
- If you do not return your books, you will not be allowed to pick out new books.
- Ice Cream at lunch on Thursday!
- Ice cream is $1.

- PTA Meeting on Monday, 11/21 at 7pm in the Pinebrook Elementary Library
- School store will be open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:40 - 8:00mm.
- The kids should come to the classroom first so I know they are here and THEN go to the school store.

Reading - We really focused on our read aloud topic during reading this week.
Writing - We started writing about small moments in our lives.

Math - We compared numbers, both 2-digit and 3-digit. Next week, we will learn how to round numbers to the nearest 10 (example - 25 rounds to 30, 52 rounds to 50).
Science - We learned about the arctic, desert, and grasslands. Next week, we will learn about forests, ponds, oceans, and adaptations.
Due to the holiday, it is a 3-day weekend! I'll see the kiddos again on Tuesday.
