- Nonfiction versus Fiction quiz on Friday, 12/2 (reading)
- The student will be able to identify the difference between a fiction book and a nonfiction text.
- Problem-solving quiz on Friday, 12/2 (math)
- The student will read and solve given word problems. The student will write a matching equation with the answer.
- Example: Saamiya has 7 pencils. She buys 4 more. How many pencils does Saamiya have now?
- Saamiya has 11 pencils.
- 7 + 4 = 11
- Equal/No-Equal quiz on Tuesday, 12/6 (math)
- Lakota tribe quiz on Thursday, 12/8 (social studies)
- Nonfiction Text Features Quiz on Thursday, 12/15 (reading)
- The student will identify and use several nonfiction text features.
- table of contents, headings, bold text, italic text, glossary (versus a dictionary), index, captions, and labels
- This is a 2-week unit so we will not have a reading quiz on Friday, 12/9.
- 2-digit Addition quiz on Thursday, 12/15 (math)
- No School for Winter Break

- $25 for first child, any additional are $5; all children MUST be currently ATTENDING Pinebrook
- Weekly Reminders
- Wear sneakers on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for P.E.
- If you do not wear sneakers/tennis shoes/trainers or closed-toed shoes (NO boots), you will not be allowed to participate in P.E. This is a rule from the P.E. teachers.
- Return library books by Wednesday!
- If you do not return your books, you will not be allowed to pick out new books.
- Ice Cream at lunch on Thursday!
- Ice cream is $1.

Writing - We continued to work on our all about books.
Writing - We continued to work on our all about books.
Read Aloud - We reviewed our reading skills this week. Next week, we will focus on identifying the differences between fiction books and nonfiction texts.
Math - We completed our fact families unit. Next week, we will practice answering word problems.
Social Studies - We finished our Powhatan tribe learning. Next week, we will focus on the Pueblo tribe and then the Lakota tribe the following week.
Handwriting - We reviewed letters
