Friday Updates 12/16/22

Be on the lookout for a new Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) school-wide initiative when we come back from winter break. We think it is something the students will really enjoy! More information to come after winter break.

Just a quick FYI, I turn off my email and ClassDojo notifications during breaks. I might check it occasionally, but it it is unlikely that you will be able to get ahold of me until January 3rd. If you have an school-related emergency, I would recommend contacting the PNB Front Office or the PNB admin, Mr. Thiessen, paul.thiessen@lcps.org, Mrs. Boyd, leigh.boyd@lcps.org, or Ms. Donaldson, turner.donaldson@lcps.org.

• Remember your Chromebook and charger every day!
• 30 minutes TOTAL of RAZ Kids due by Friday, 1/6
• The kids have access to RAZ kids, Lalilo, and Zearn during break! 
• No School for Winter Break
• Monday, 12/19/22 - Monday, 1/2/23
• School returns on Tuesday, 1/3

• Weekly Reminders
• Wear sneakers on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for P.E.
• If you do not wear sneakers/tennis shoes/trainers or closed-toed shoes (NO boots), you will not be allowed to participate in P.E. This is a rule from the P.E. teachers.
• Return library books by Wednesday!
• If you do not return your books, you will not be allowed to pick out new books.
• Ice Cream at lunch on Thursday!
• Ice cream is $1.

PTA

• PTA Meeting on Monday, 1/9/2023 at 7pm in the Pinebrook Elementary Library
• School store will be open on Fridays from 7:40 - 8:00mm.
• The kids should come to the classroom first so I know they are here and THEN go to the school store.

Week Overview

SEL/Morning Meeting

Reading - We finished our learning about different text features. We will refer back to this learning throughout the year.
Writing -  We published our all about books. 

Read Aloud - We reviewed author's message.

Math - We practiced 2-digit addition (2-digit regrouping). We will review this and start 2-digit subtraction when we return from break.

Social Studies - We worked on a project to share our knowledge of one of the native groups.

Handwriting - We practiced our handwriting skills.

Have a fantastic break and I'll see the kids again on January 3rd,
