Last week, we had restorative circle with Mrs. Walker each morning and discussed what we liked about class as well as responsibilities we can take in the classroom each day. This week, we had a follow-up meeting with Mrs. Walker where the kids remarked how proud they were of the class' improvements. Our classroom is much more clean and quiet throughout lessons and the school day. We are hoping to keep this momentum as we head toward the end of the year!
As the year is wrapping up, school items will start coming home. Today, the kids brought their Go Math Volume 2 book home. You are welcome to have your kiddo work on concepts in it but we do not need it in class anymore.

- Weekly Reminders
- Wear sneakers on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for P.E.
- If you do not wear sneakers/tennis shoes/trainers or closed-toed shoes (NO boots), you will not be allowed to participate in P.E. This is a rule from the P.E. teachers.
- Return library books by Wednesday!
- If you do not return your books, you will not be allowed to pick out new books.
- Ice Cream at lunch on Thursday!
- Ice cream is $1.
- Kids are welcome to get ice cream any day. Second grade is encouraging kids to go on Thursdays so that it is less confusing and chaotic.
- House Spirit Days are on Fridays.
- Wear your house color on Fridays to show house spirit.
- Parents can join at lunchtime on Tuesdays and Thursdays!
- Please be sure to bring your ID card to get in the front door.
- You can walk your kiddo back to the classroom after lunch (when Ms. Stiffler comes to pick them up) if you would like.

Reading - We finished learning about food chains. We started learning about outer space.
Writing - We started working on comic books/graphic novels!

Read Aloud - We started to work with prefixes and suffixes. We also learned how to find base words. You can check our learning on the mind map.
Math - We started learning about fractions this week! We really focused on equal parts. We will continue this learning next week and start learning how to compare fractions.
Social Studies - We started learning about economics. We learned about resources (natural, capital, human) and goods & services. We will continue this learning next week.
