- Outer Space quiz on Wednesday, 5/31 (reading)
- The student will use their knowledge of outer space to show their understanding of a nonfiction text.
- This is NOT test on space knowledge.
- Economics Test on Wednesday, 5/31 (social studies)
- Compound Words Quiz on Thursday, 6/1 (reading)
- Comparing Fractions Quiz on Thursday, 6/1 (math)
- Class Party on Friday, 6/2
- Nutrition Test on Wednesday, 6/7 (science)
Notes
- Weekly Reminders
- Wear sneakers on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for P.E.
- If you do not wear sneakers/tennis shoes/trainers or closed-toed shoes (NO boots), you will not be allowed to participate in P.E. This is a rule from the P.E. teachers.
- Return library books by Wednesday!
- If you do not return your books, you will not be allowed to pick out new books.
- Ice Cream at lunch on Thursday!
- Ice cream is $1.
- Kids are welcome to get ice cream any day. Second grade is encouraging kids to go on Thursdays so that it is less confusing and chaotic.
- House Spirit Days are on Fridays.
- Wear your house color on Fridays to show house spirit.
- Parents can join at lunchtime on Tuesdays and Thursdays!
- Please be sure to bring your ID card to get in the front door.
- You can walk your kiddo back to the classroom after lunch (when Ms. Stiffler comes to pick them up) if you would like.
- Our lunch is 12:20 - 12:50pm.

- School store will be open on Fridays from 7:40 - 8:00am.
- The kids should come to the classroom first so I know they are here and THEN go to the school store.

Reading - We continued learning about outer space.
Writing - We continued working on comic books/graphic novels!

Read Aloud - We finished our focused lessons on prefixes and suffixes. We started focusing on compound words. You can check our learning on the mind map.
Math - We continued to work with fractions this week. The kids did fantastic with it! We started to practice comparing fractions this week.
Social Studies - We continued learning about economics. We will finish this next week and start learning about nutrition.
