Music Event at World Bazaar on 4/12/24

Thursday, April 4, 2024

Hello, First, Second, and Third Grade Families!

We hope this finds you well! Our students have been working so hard on new musical skills that are years beyond grade level! This email contains information about an exciting upcoming performance opportunity.

Performance and Event Information

On Friday April 12th, Pinebrook will be hosting its second World Bazaar event. We are so thrilled that the PTA brings this amazing multicultural celebration to our school! We are excited and honored to have been invited to perform again this year. To that end, we wanted to feature our first, second, and third graders at this well-attended event.

Our first grade students will be performing a Japanese folk song; our second grade students will be performing a Nigerian folk song; and our third graders will be performing a Mexican folk song. Each performance will last no more than ten minutes. While this event is not mandatory, we hope that every family is already planning to attend this event and that the vast majority of our families will join us. This is your child’s only featured public performance for the school year, so we hope that is some extra motivation to attend! The event is incredible and we know you will have a wonderful time!

Attire and Schedule

Students have the choice of wearing an outfit that represents their culture, or wearing Pinebrook spirit wear with school-appropriate bottoms. While we hope that you will attend the entire event which begins at 6:00pm, please have students report no later than the following times:

1st: report by 6:45pm, perform at 7:00pm, done by 7:15pm

2nd: report by 7:00pm, perform at 7:15pm, done by 7:30pm

3rd: report by 7:15pm, perform at 7:30pm, done by 7:45pm

Specific report locations will be communicated closer to the event. If you arrive early and are enjoying the event, we will announce holding areas and report times over the microphone.

Volunteers

We are in need of several parent volunteers to supervise each grade while they are waiting to perform. The three music teachers will need to lead each group and help them transition in and out of the gym. If you are willing to wait with your child’s group in their holding area and ensure that all students are safe and exhibiting respectful behavior, and walk them back to their holding area for dismissal, we would be so grateful! You will absolutely still be able to watch them perform, as you’ll follow them into the gym and exit with them. If you are willing to volunteer in this capacity, please let us know using the RSVP form below. Thank you for considering!

RSVP

Please RSVP using the link below so we know who to expect and how many instruments to set up. Since the event is after school hours and not an official field trip, each child needs to be accompanied by a responsible adult. There is no formal checkout process – please reunite with your child in their holding area after the performance.

Thank you so much for your continued support of all of our Pinebrook Pumas!
