Native American Project
DUE on Friday, November 15th
Second grade is starting the Native American Unit in Social Studies in November.
In class, we will be learning about the Powhatan, Lakota, and Pueblo Indians. We will be learning about their homes, food, clothing, and their main form of transportation.
At home, students will be completing a project on a tribe that they choose. They are expected to research the tribe - online, using books,etc., complete a booklet of information, and make a three-dimensional representation of the tribe. Your child is welcome to choose a tribe that is not on the list in the packet; please DO NOT choose the Powhatan, Lakota, or Pueblo tribes as we will be learning about them in class. HERE are some examples of tribes that your child could choose from.
Your student will be expected to present their booklet and 3-D representation of their tribe to the class. Please be sure to practice presenting with your student at home so they are comfortable.
