On Wednesday, 4/15, we will be doing a morning meeting as a class with just the kiddos on Google Meet at 10:00am. It will be about 10-15 minutes. We will start with a greeting, then do a quick activity, and finally a short share.
I will email out a link to the Google Meet on Wednesday. All you will need to do is click on the link. You do not have to log into Google in order to access the Meet.
Important tips:
- When your child enters the Meet, their microphone should be immediately muted. It is important that they do not unmute unless instructed.
- If all twenty kiddos are talking at once, it will be chaos (very loud noises and not able to hear anyone).
- The kids are going to be excited and it will be a little crazy to have them all talking at once.
- When it is time to log off (10:10/10:15am), the kids must end their call. They should not hang out in the Meet.
- A great extension that we have found is called "Google Meet Grid View". You can find it here.
- This shows everyone in the call on one screen instead of just one person.
- You will need to use Google Chrome in order to use it.
- To use it when logged into the Meet, you will click on the black grid box inside the Meet.
The Meet is not required, but I'm sure the kiddos are itching to see each other! Please keep in mind that this is intended for the kids to see each other and interact as a class. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me. Please do not use this time to ask questions; the Meet is for the kiddos.
Have a great day and I'll see the kiddos on Wednesday!
Ms. Stiffler
