- Weekly Reminders
- Wear sneakers on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for P.E.
- If you do not wear sneakers/tennis shoes/trainers or closed-toed shoes (NO boots), you will not be allowed to participate in P.E. This is a rule from the P.E. teachers.
- Return library books by Wednesday!
- If you do not return your books, you will not be allowed to pick out new books.
- Ice Cream at lunch on Thursday!
- Ice cream is $1.
- House Spirit Days are on Fridays.
- Wear your house color on Fridays to show house spirit.
- Parents can join at lunchtime on Tuesdays and Thursdays!
- Please be sure to bring your ID card to get in the front door.
- You can walk your kiddo back to the classroom after lunch (when Ms. Stiffler comes to pick them up) if you would like.

Reading - We finished up our reading topic on plants. We started our new topic of marine/saltwater habitats with some nonfiction books. We will continue this next week. Follow our learning on our mind map.
Writing - We published our fiction stories and started working on sentence structure. A complete sentence has a subject (who?), a predicate (what are they doing?), a capital letter, and punctuation. We will continue this next week.

Read Aloud - We compared fractured fairy tales to their original stories. We will identify synonyms and antonyms and their meanings next week.
Math - We finished our time unit and reviewed how to read a calendar (which is also telling time!). We will do a week-long unit on measuring to the nearest inch using a ruler next week.
Social Studies - We started our Famous Americans unit by learning about Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, and George Washington Carver. We will learn about Helen Keller, Thurgood Marshall, and Rosa Parks next week.
Handwriting - We learned how to write "y" in cursive this week and practiced our cursive.
