Previously, we would have 4 math pages to complete throughout the week. This year, I have decided to try using the homework packet.
- When will it be sent home? It will typically be sent home on Mondays. If we have a short week, it will be sent home the first day we are in school that week.
- When will it be due back at school? It will typically be due on Fridays. If we have a short week, it will be due the last day of that week.
- What is in the homework packet?
- a cover page with our current topics and upcoming content assessements (science and social studies)
- 2 pages of math homework (1 paper, front and back)
- a page with 2 sets of phonics work
- This is just for if you would like to work with your student at home on the phonics that we are learning and practicing at school. It is NOT required.
- sometimes a study guide
- What will be expected to be completed? The cover page and the completed math paper should be returned to school with a grown-up's signature/initials.
- Who is considered a "grown-up"? I use the term "grown-up" as a general term for adults in a student's life. Since families can be different and a parent may not be the one checking homework, I do not want someone to feel excluded. So a grown-up could be a parent (mom, dad), a caregiver, an aunt, an uncle, grandma, grandpa, etc.
