Friday Updates 10/20/23

Friday, October 20, 2023

A new topic in our classroom has been "Turtle Talks"! As we have been settling into the classroom, a few behaviors have been consistently showing up. That's where Turtle Talks come in! They are made by Ms. Stiffler and we talk through them as a class to help with any confusion. The kids really have been making improvements on many of these behaviors. You are welcome to review any of them at home with your kiddo.

Another note is that we have switched from RAZ kids Reading to RAZ kids Foundations. This allows me to assign the kids lessons based on the VA Standards of Learning and support their learning similar to Dreambox. The kids have "missions" to complete and can still earn stars. We are now free-reading from Epic instead. On the homework packet, "RAZ Kids" has been changed to "Read with Another Person" so they can read with a sibling, parent, relative, friend, or stuffed animal to get an extra dojo point.

Please note that the habitats test has been moved to Monday, 10/23. Two more days to study!
