Reminders for Friday, March 13th
- Remember your Chromebook and charger every day!
- No Homework packet this week.
- New one will be sent home next week on 3/23.
- U.S. Landforms test on 3/18 (social studies)
- Your child should be able to identify the Rio Grande River, the Rocky Mountains, the Appalachian Mountains, the Great Lakes, the James River, and the Mississippi River.
- No School on Thursday, 3/19 - teacher work day
- No School on Friday, 3/20 - Eid al Fitr
- Graphing quiz on Friday, 3/27 (math)
- Your child should be able to read and understand the data presented on a picture graph and a bar graph. They should recongize the parts of a graph (straight lines, labels on the side and bottom, title, numbers).
- Spring Break 3/30 - 4/3
- Last day before break is Friday, 3/27.
- Return to school on Monday, 4/6.
- No school on Friday, 4/10 - teacher work day

- Return library books by Wednesday each week!
- If you do not return your books, you will not be allowed to pick out new books.
- Wear sneakers on Monday and Friday for P.E.
- If you do not wear sneakers/tennis shoes/trainers or closed-toed shoes (NO boots), you will not be allowed to participate in P.E. This is a rule from the P.E. teachers.
- Ice Cream will be available at lunch next week!
- Ice cream is $2.
- We would prefer that students plan to purchase ice cream on Fridays. Per LCPS, they are allowed to buy it any day of the week. We encourage them to buy ice cream only on Fridays so that they are less likely to make it a competition.
- House Spirit Days are on Fridays.
- Wear your house color on Fridays to show house spirit.
- Parents can join at lunchtime on Tuesdays and Thursdays!
- Please be sure to bring your ID card to get in the front door.
- Please make sure to stay at our table.
- Our lunch is 12:10 - 12:40pm.

Week Overview
Reading - We practiced our reading skills.
Writing - We worked on reflxive pronouns (herself, himself, yourself, myself), reviewed subject-verb agreement, and the verb be (was, were, are, am, is).
Math - We practiced answering word problems and counting coins to amounts less than $2.
Social Studies - We learned about North America, its main 3 countries, and its bordering oceans. We will focus on landforms - rivers, mountains, lakes - of the United States next week.
Handwriting - We practiced writing cursive lowercase c, o, a, g, d.
