- Homework packet due by Friday, 3/13

- Money less than $1 quiz on 3/9 (math)
- Your child should be able to identify a penny, nickel, dime, and quarter and their values. They should also be able to add these coins in given amounts that is less than $1 AND use the cents symbol correctly ¢.
- North America test on 3/11 (social studies)
- Your child should be able to identify the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Pacific Ocean on a map - the parts of North America.
- Money more than $1 quiz on 3/13 (math)
- Your child should be able to add coins and dollars in given amounts that is less than $2 AND use the cents symbol ¢, dollar symbol $, and decimal point correctly.
- U.S. Landforms test on 3/18 (social studies)
- Your child should be able to identify the Rio Grande River, the Rocky Mountains, the Appalachian Mountains, the Great Lakes, the James River, and the Mississippi River.
- No School on Thursday, 3/19 - teacher work day
- No School on Friday, 3/20 - Eid al Fitr
- Spring Break 3/30 - 4/3
- Last day before break is Friday, 3/27.
- Return to school on Monday, 4/6.
- No school on Friday, 4/10 - teacher work day

- Weekly Reminder
- Return library books by Wednesday each week!
- If you do not return your books, you will not be allowed to pick out new books.
- Wear sneakers on Monday and Friday for P.E.
- If you do not wear sneakers/tennis shoes/trainers or closed-toed shoes (NO boots), you will not be allowed to participate in P.E. This is a rule from the P.E. teachers.
- Ice Cream will be available at lunch next week!
- Ice cream is $2.
- We would prefer that students plan to purchase ice cream on Fridays. Per LCPS, they are allowed to buy it any day of the week. We encourage them to buy ice cream only on Fridays so that they are less likely to make it a competition.
- House Spirit Days are on Fridays.
- Wear your house color on Fridays to show house spirit.
- Parents can join at lunchtime on Tuesdays and Thursdays!
- Please be sure to bring your ID card to get in the front door.
- Please make sure to stay at our table.
- Our lunch is 12:10 - 12:40pm.

Reading - We practiced our reading skills.
Writing - We XX
Math - We practiced answering word problems and counting coins to amounts less than $1.
Science- We learned about how weather affects the earth and reviewed seasonal changes. We will start our geography unit next week about North America.
Handwriting - We practiced writing manuscript Xx, Zz, Kk.
