The wonderful Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Stanley have provided the kiddos with a new resource that allows them to practice their typing skills: Typing Club!

Students can access this application through their LCPS Go! account or by following this link. They should log in using their lunch number/student id and Puma password.

Writing Activity

I thought I would share an idea to use if you would like your student to have more practice writing at home.

Having a journal is a wonderful way to encourage writing! Have you student write about things that happen to to him or her; elementary schoolers love to write about themselves!

If they go to the movies, grandma comes to visit, or they has anything that they can’t stop talking about, have them write it down! It will not only help them build skills, but it will be a wonderful keepsake when they're older.

After they has written down their thoughts, have your student read over their work, either to you or to themselves. Most times, they will catch mistakes, such as missing words, misplaced words, or anything that sounds odd. If they have misspelled words, only correct one or two. Too many corrections may hurt their confidence.

Hope this is a useful resource!
