Dear families,
Wow, just like that it’s the day before the first day of school! Hopefully, you had a chance to read my update on Saturday. It is a lot of information so please take your time, but it is a lot of important information.
I just wanted to reiterate that the kids and I will be meeting on Google Meet at 8:15am tomorrow, 9/8 for our first day of school! Please help your child practice getting into Schoology and clicking on the Google Meet button. This button will only work if your child is logged into their Chromebook or THEIR LCPS account (their email and password will also log them into Google), not a parent account. I will be emailing out the link the first week of school to help with this transition.
We will start our day with Morning Meeting. If your child wants to watch the PNB News Show, please be sure to start it with enough time to get to our Meet on time! We’ll be going over Schoology and a couple of other new things while getting to know each other. We will take brain breaks and practice using the timer to know when to come back to class. We will not have a Special on Tuesday this week; Specials will start on Wednesday, 9/9. Therefore, when we are done, the kids are free to relax and go eat their lunch. While we will not be doing small groups this week, I do expect the kids to go to Schoology in the afternoon and complete their Playlist activities each day. I will go over this with them tomorrow morning.
Just a small note that we do not have the licensing for Seesaw yet. None of the kids have logins at this point. When it becomes available, I will email you individually with the instructions. We do apologize for the inconvenience. The kids will still be given time to explore before we start using it to submit assignments.
